From Near-Death Experience to Purpose-Driven Entrepreneur - Lauren Nicole Peters

Actually, welcome back. Let me just welcome you back to the show. Yeah, I looked. I think it was 2020 when we did it. It was. Yeah, we had nothing going on. Nothing. Nobody had anything going on. Like, you want to be on my podcast? You're like, sure, sure, we're not going anywhere. Yeah, we can't even go to the beach. No, right? God, could you— let's not even— don't even get me started. Uh, don't, don't even. So I think you and I became friends on Facebook. Just one of those random, hey, you look— maybe we got mutual friends, you look familiar, or what are you up to, or I'd love to interview you, or whatever. Just meeting friends online. And then that's exactly what happened, and I got you on the show. And well, here we are 6 years later. We usually catch up at least every couple years, and it's been a couple years. It's been maybe more than that. So we recently had a chance to do that. And then you gave me some information about your life that I never knew about. And then you also mentioned, well, I'm going to be on podcast talking about this. And we're— well, of course, the suspense is building, friends. We're going to talk about it. Don't worry. So I said, hey, let's get you on the podcast. Great way. Another way for us to be able to catch up again. Plus, we can tell your story. Yeah, I'm happy to be here. There's more I didn't tell the first time around. So So shady. What's up with that? We're letting it all out this time around. So, um, I, well, name of the show is Beyond the Story. So it's no mystery that I love telling people's stories, but I always like to have some context for our listeners. So the best way to be able to do that is, is go back to the beginning of the story. Now, the beginning of the story is different for everybody. So you decide where that starting point is. But, um, Take us back here. And then, of course, a very life-changing event took place in your life. So I want to talk about that too. But I'm sure that's part of going back to the beginning of the story. So let's— Yeah, I don't fully remember where I started last time we were on a podcast. But I remember talking about my religious background, how I went in and out of that. What I didn't talk about are all of the crazy spiritual experiences And visions I have had since I was a child, because obviously growing up in the modern Western religion, when you have those kinds of experiences, you are demonized for a lot of them. So I did not include that on the first podcast, and I have been learning how to incorporate more of it and share more of these experiences. And so, yeah, I mean, if we go back, this is all the way 5 years old, I was having visions. 15 years old, I had a vision of my future, and I was looking into the future, and there was information. And then I remember getting to the age of 24, and that's when the information went blank. It was just black. And I'm like, you know, what could that mean? I'm only 15 years old, and I'm like, eh, whatever, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. So I live my life, I get to the age of 24, I turn 24, and I'm like, all right, now is the time. And about 3 to 4 months later, I had this experience where I was having really horrible sleep apnea. And I never really thought it was super dangerous. I would wake up, you know, gasping for air, sometimes snoring a lot, not being able to breathe. But one night, I just stopped breathing, and I did not start breathing again. And what started out was a dream, a very significant dream of being with my mom and stepfather, which I think I have shared with you. I did not have a good childhood with them. very, like, lots of abuse and, you know, certain moments of violence and stuff like that. So them being in this dream, it was already really intense. At some point in the dream, I walked out into a hallway of a house, and I saw that there was a cliff, like the house had broken off and it was floating into space. And I walked back in the living room, and my stepdad gets up and points a gun at my face. Oh my gosh. And he starts chasing me out the door, through the hallway, and I have to decide, how are you going to die right now? So I can die by his gun or I can die by jumping off the cliff into space. And I— what would you have chosen? Definitely jumping off the cliff, I think. I don't know. Both are kind of ballsy. Yeah. I jumped off the cliff and immediately I started suffocating. And so in the middle of this suffocation experience, because it was a whole like phased out experience where my ego is freaking out, what is going on? At that point, it was no longer a dream. And it was actually a death, like a full death experience. And then I got to the end of it where I sort of slipped away. I like slipped out of a bubble and into a dark vastness. And this is what a lot of people when they pass away, they call the void. So I'm sure you've seen near-death experience stories before, right? I try not to. Okay. Yeah, we'll have to talk about that another day. Some are great, some are crazy. But a lot of people experience different things. Sometimes they die and they're met by their family. Jesus can sometimes come in. And sometimes they're surrounded by like a black, like a darkness. But it's not evil. It's not weird. It's still, it's still the place of God, but fully loving, eternal peace. It feels like home, and you kind of know that you're home. So that's what I was experiencing. And I remember looking down at Earth and then having a realization that none of my problems ever existed. So that was actually a huge relief. And then in that moment, I was with God, and I was like, hey, can I stay here? And then the answer was no. And then I got forcibly sucked back into my body, into here, Earth. And then in that moment, I woke up. I I was still fully connected to that space with God and fully here. So physical and all the way up in heaven where I was. And then I started having visions. This is kind of where we get to the end of my near-death experience. The vision in front of me was I was looking at all of humanity, and my dad and mom were in the front. And I saw all of them as children. And it was almost as if God was trying to show me something about everyone. Everyone is his child. And then He pointed to my mom, which I did not have a good childhood with. He said, even she is My child. And He said, she is here to learn lessons just like you. And it is not up to you to take personally the part that you played in her lessons. And I am 24 at the time. I do not even think like this. And so— You are like, I do not even have a full brain yet. Exactly. I am still fully self-centered at 24 years old, you know. And hearing this level of wisdom, it just kind of blew my mind in that moment. And then I remember blinking, and then all of humanity, including my mom and my dad, they all turned into, like, sparks. It was as if they all had this, like, glowing golden aura spark on top of their head, and, like, another spark right here that was silver glow. And in that moment, I heard, everyone here is a unique spark, a unique creator. That we are all here with unique gifts that we were given that we are here to serve each other with. And then at that point, the vision sort of went away. And I was left, I do not know, the last 15 years to integrate that experience. Because, I do not know, you have had your own spiritual experiences before. Even though you are smack dab in an experience, it does not mean you learn what you need to learn right then. Sometimes it takes like 10 years to figure out what the heck. You received. And so I'm sitting here today, you know, with the work I do, I mainly take that vision and I really try to help people figure out what those gifts are and what to do with them. So how do you do that without someone having a near-death experience like you experienced? Well, I believe that was a gift given to me. And, you know, not everyone needs that type of experience in order to live a full and meaningful life. But The way that I help people with that is it's actually very human and practical. Like, what are your gifts? What lights you up? How do you like to serve other people? And if you're currently not experiencing a life where you are able to, to serve others in that way, or you don't feel excited about it, then what can we move around in your life? Or what can we learn more about you to get you to be able to do that fully? I love that. I didn't have a near-death experience, but I went through an experience in 2016, a personal development program that radically changed my life and helped me step into my power, believe in myself, love myself, et cetera. And I now bring that back to the work that I get to do through talks and comedy and most specifically launching podcasts. And I could have never predicted that that would have happened. How do you know when you're going to unfuck yourself and And then you're gonna now take that work back to, to the podcast studio and help other people do that same exact thing. And the, and the vehicle becomes just the podcast. Who they get to become is a, a whole different ballgame. Let, let's talk about the, the type of work that you do now. Yeah, I'll add onto what you just said. You are what I think is an amazing representation of somebody who takes all the different things that they love. And even though in the beginning you're like, how do all these pieces work? who just went out and figured it out. Like, you tested things, you got on stage, you know, you're like, how the heck is this going to turn out? Sure. You are constantly putting yourself out there on the line and saying, this is what I want to do, let's try it, but let's have fun with it too. So taking what I just said, the work I do today is I'm a marketer through and through in my heart. At 14 years old, I was already making listings on eBay with my mom's credit card. Like, this was, this was ingrained in me, and it took me a long time to realize I really love marketing. And with that near-death experience and meeting amazing people like you, I take those people and we work on their marketing and their message. Like, how do we get more clear about what it is you do? How do we get more clear about your message, your offer? But then I don't just want you creating 10 pieces of content 10 times a day, right? That's exhausting. I also understand organic traffic and paid traffic as well. So I teach people something as simple as $5 per day ads so that they can get their message out to the right people almost immediately, as opposed to just putting content out and praying and hoping it works. Yeah, that's a strategy that almost never works. So why is it important that people figure these things out for their business? Well, I mean, if you're a more heart-centered person and you are things like spiritual things, uh, soulful things really resonate with you on a deep level, and you know you're, you're meant to serve others and not just make it about yourself and not make it just about money and material wealth, which I love all those things too, um, but if you feel all like you're calling in a deeper sense, then, um, this is a perfect way to take all of your gifts and ground it in real practicality and get it out to the right people because If it's not practical, people are not going to listen. Yeah, absolutely. This is so true. What are you excited about for the rest of what's left of 2026, at least at the time we're recording this episode right now? Yeah, it wasn't January yesterday. Yeah, I mean, wherever 2026 went. The rest of 2026, I'm so excited. I just launched a smaller community called the Awakened Creators Community, and literally anyone can join. We have a 7-day challenge where we go through the beginning of my process of getting your message out there, the$5 per day ad thing. And really that's my focus for the rest of 2026. I just wanna invite people in there and grow that community. My biggest job in there is developing the workshops and all of the learning materials that we'll be doing from now. I have learning material for the next year planned out, so that's what we're focusing on. I love that. Love that. So yeah, if you are experiencing crazy chaos in regards to your gifts, just realize that that chaos is an opportunity, to see it as something you are a victim of, or something that you can and eventually will overcome. Nothing is permanent. And generally, you can use those experiences as a mirror to see where you can grow your life in more abundance, especially in service of others. I love that.
