Entrepreneurs must know that the startup process has both the hardest and finest part of it. Everyone sees the light at the end of the tunnel, but not many realize how difficult, painful and hard it is to reach it. The hard work has created more opportunities for those who were willing to risk all for a dream and a dream come true in form of a company.
Today on Beyond the Story Podcast, we are joined by Matt Russell. Matt started his own company ProCents five years ago. He was passionate about helping people with their businesses and vision but had his own to share as well. After many years of pursuing his dream of starting a company, he recently achieved that dream and became the CEO of his own company.
In this episode, Matt tells us about the place he is now at, what his current job is and how he got there. He also tells us about the type of work he does and helps organizations with, and how the process was for starting his own business from the ground up. Enjoy!

[00:01:35] “My dad always said, work smarter, not harder. So after, you know, working hard for a while, I figured it's time to start working smarter and working on bigger ideas that take less stress on my body and take a bigger toll on my body, that allow me more free time to do what I like doing, which is connecting with people.”
[00:02:07] “I've always had the entrepreneur mindset, but unfortunately, that did not really occur till about five years ago when I became an entrepreneur and opened my own company.”
[00:04:06] “It's a little bit harder on the scope and also with just liabilities. I'd rather not put that liability on a company I'd rather like myself. I'd rather have it be with a larger entity.”
[00:04:29] “A lot of people say that they want to be a business owner, but they don't want to go and open a bank account or they don't want to go and get their corporation to sit down with an attorney to have that corporate document set up.”
[00:05:51] “Everyone wants to be a lion until it's time to do lion shit.”
[00:08:59] If you don't know what you're doing right, ask someone. They'll tell you. And just take that advice for the grain of salt and then you'll figure it out.”
