Personal Growth and Wellness Through Transformation and Conscious Living
In a recent episode of the podcast "Beyond The Story," hosted by Sebastian Rusk and featuring Fiorella Oldani, the topic of personal growth and wellness through transformation and conscious living was explored. The episode delved into the journey of healing, finding one's best self, making a positive impact on others, and integrating experiences and insights into everyday life.
The process of personal growth and wellness is ongoing and requires self-reflection, accountability, and conscious choices. One transformative experience discussed in the episode was the Art of Living course, which combines yoga, meditation, and mantras. This course has the potential to lead to personal breakthroughs and even a career in wellness and marketing.
Transitioning to a fulfilling career can also be transformative, requiring meditation, self-reflection, and the integration of lessons learned. Fiorella Oldani shared her own experience of feeling unfulfilled in her previous job marketing luxury and high-end products. She desired something that would bring her more fulfillment and embarked on a journey of self-discovery to find her true passion.
Marketing and branding for conscious messages were also discussed as a means to spread awareness and create positive change. By aligning one's career with their values and purpose, individuals can make a meaningful impact on the world.
The integration process after a transformative experience was highlighted as a lifelong journey of self-discovery and growth. Sebastian Rusk emphasized the importance of recognizing and reminding oneself of who they have become and the progress they have made. This self-awareness and self-acceptance are vital for personal growth and wellness.
Raising one's vibration, or cultivating a positive and energetic state, was another key aspect of personal growth and wellness discussed in the episode. This involves being aware of what toxifies the body and focusing on activities that make one feel alive. Being open to new experiences and embracing change were also emphasized as crucial for personal growth and evolution.
The episode also touched upon the concept of Blue Zones, areas where people live longer due to their diet, health, and low stress levels. These Blue Zones offer valuable insights into how lifestyle factors can contribute to longevity and overall well-being. By adopting healthy habits and reducing stress, individuals can enhance their personal growth and wellness.
Throughout the episode, quotes from Sebastian Rusk and Fiorella Oldani highlighted the importance of self-awareness, accountability, and the integration of transformative experiences. Sebastian Rusk emphasized the power of knowing oneself and using that knowledge to make a positive impact on others. Fiorella Oldani emphasized the ongoing nature of personal growth and the need to be accountable for one's choices and actions.
In conclusion, personal growth and wellness through transformation and conscious living require continuous self-reflection, accountability, and conscious choices. The integration of transformative experiences and the alignment of one's career with their values and purpose can lead to personal breakthroughs and a fulfilling life. By raising one's vibration, being open to new experiences, and adopting healthy habits, individuals can enhance their personal growth and overall well-being. The journey of personal growth and wellness is a lifelong process, but one that can bring immense fulfillment and positive change.

This is the Beyond the Story Podcast, a show that goes way beyond the story. Fiorella, what's happening?
SPEAKER_01Hello.
SPEAKER_00We're doing it.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00We're doing the podcast episode. I love it. You said this is your first time being on a podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's my first time. Thank you so much for being here.
SPEAKER_00First time for everything, ladies and gentlemen. No, thank you for being here. It's it's my uh it's my pleasure. It really, really is. Um You and I met about three years ago, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In the business world. And then stayed connected. And um, the one good thing about social media. And um as of recently, I've been following a lot of your a lot of your journey and your wellness journey specifically uh and your content. Always been a FEO fan, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_00And um I was like, let me reach out and find out what's going on with you. Like, what's this? Because I think our paths are pretty similar with some some of the stuff that we've been working on with with ourselves. So um, and that all came together through um us reconnecting about a month ago or a few weeks back and talking about your upcoming retreat, which we're gonna talk about too, uh, in Costa Rica, because I had just gotten back from Costa Rica.
SPEAKER_01Isn't that beautiful?
SPEAKER_00Beautiful place. So apparently I was in a blue zone, didn't even know what a blue zone was, but it was the weekend before I was going into an experience uh here in Florida. And my buddy that who's a is a buddy of mine and a and a client um said, You just spent the whole weekend in a blue zone. That's cleansing in and of itself. And I was like, I just learned about a blue zone. That's interesting that you say that. And I go, what's even more interesting is that I'm I'm I spent a week uh the weekend that exactly a week before I'm supposed to go into this experience. And he's like, it's all lining up, brother. It's all lining up. So um, as you know, I was extremely apprehensive about that weekend. Like I was like, I'm not really sure what to expect. So I'll see you on the other side type deal. Um, and then you and I had uh had a conversation um after that. So we talked a little bit before, and then after that, it was like full, like the timing was so perfect because I was able to just give you a full download, like 72 hours out of the experience, which is as you know, not the easiest task to do, and not really a download that you can give everyone.
SPEAKER_01Um that really doesn't get so much. I had I had I was honored to experience you to have the pre you know the preview of your experience.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, you had the preview and the and like the like the post-download of like how it all you know went went down. And um thank you, by the way, for for uh my pleasure, for having the the space to to take all that on. Um it was cool because we were in this container all weekend, you know, with six brothers and uh just a just a great experience. And then you come out of it and you're like, all right, where's my tribe? Like, where's my people that I can be like, dude? Let me tell you what happened this weekend. Um and that was you, you were the first on that list. And I was like, well, let's get you on the podcast, and I want to talk about the upcoming retreat, but you know, I I also want to talk about, you know, I think finding the path, the path meeting, whatever you describe it as, um healing yourself, becoming the best version of yourself, your higher self, if you will. Um, all of those are contributed to the path. And I and it is my understanding and my belief that not everyone finds the path. Very few are called to it and will find it. But once you find it, it's your responsibility to get out there and show up in the world by doing the work and continuing to become the best version of yourself, which in turn makes an impact on everybody around you. So we were talking a little bit before the interview here, actually, a lot of it before the interview, fantastic conversation. Um, and that we both went through a uh the same uh transformation uh course, gratitude training back in 2016. And it had such a profound impact in my life. Like I learned how to love myself, I learned how to become accountable for my life and stop blaming people and like this whole like stuff that most people don't even arrive at ever. And um that just lit my soul on fire to go, man, I want more, I want more, I want more, I want more. So that's how I found the path. And then I met our friend Gina, who's just an incredible, incredible soul, and she introduced me to the world of breath work, and breath work um really continued to rock my world because I didn't know how to slow down. And she kept saying, She would tell me to shut the fuck up, and I'm like, Gina, it's a little harsh. She's like, it's all bullshit. And I'm like, okay, cool. And then I and she's like, then you need to slow down. And I'm like, I can't slow down. I'm trying to get rich. I'm like, all right, fine, why do I gotta slow down? And she's like, because you're gonna miss it. And I'm like, Miss what? And she's like, whatever's for you. So breath work has you know been able to do that. And for me to be able to to I I chase calm. Actually, calm's available, I don't have to chase it, but that's kind of how I found the path. Not kind of, it is how I found the path, and continuing to figure this out because we've only got a lifetime to figure it out. But I'm curious to to know more about your story of you know how you how you found the path of of healing and and when you made the decision to to go all in with it.
SPEAKER_01Yes, of course. Happy to share.
SPEAKER_00Yes, please do.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. So, as you know, I'm from Argentina and I moved to yeah, Miami after university like 12 years ago. And I think like my biggest breakthrough was when I was like 19 years old, I went to uh like a course called The Art of Living, and that's a course where they teach you yoga, meditation, mantras for happiness, and they asked me, you have to eat uh actually not eat meat for a week. And I was like, wow, I'm I have we eat a lot of meat in Argentina, right? The best, yes. So I'm like, how am I gonna do that? But at the end of the week, I felt, you know, by changing the diet, I felt so much lighter, and I felt really happy. And it's like, what's this about meditation? Like it was I felt a sense of peace, and I was not so like yeah, and my biggest breakthrough was like, wow, like really by changing the diet, I I am feeling way happier and way better. So that happened many years ago. Then um, during university, like my summer jobs, let's say for the summers, I used to go to teach skiing in Colorado, and that was beautiful. I worked with kids, yes, in the ski school. I really love that. And when I graduated, I thought, like, oh, I I studied business. I wanted to go to the US to have like a real working experience, right? More related to my career. And I thought, oh, I want to go to New York or DC, and then I got an opportunity in Miami, and I wasn't really thrilled about Miami. You know, I pictured Ocean Drive and that mango scenery, and I wasn't, but it was a beautiful opportunity with beautiful people, and I came uh to work and I loved it. It was like the first time really living so far away from my family and and and doing the adult life, let's say.
SPEAKER_00Adulting.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, adulting, yes, which is hard. You know, it's like, oh, how accounting and the lawyer and everything, and now I need I'm responsible for all of this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, and I and I love it here, and it was like so exciting to come. And uh there's so much activity in Miami, right? You can you can meet up and go everywhere. There are activities from Monday to Monday, and I met a lot of, you know, I made a lot of friends who were like young professionals. So I really felt I found a new family here, and I was really happy. Um, and found also in Miami like a lot of culture, art, technology. Like I was like, wow, and I love living close to the beach, that's another highlight on so much sunshine all year round. So I was really happy. I fell in love. Um, and then I had wonderful first and second year, and the third year I um we we broke up, and I and I that was very sad for me. And I wasn't spiritual at all, you know, by then. And I remember one time a friend invited me to a meditation class. She was gonna do sound healing balls in at Modern Um. And I thought, okay, I'm gonna go to support her, but for me, this is like nap time for adults, right? I'm just gonna relax.
SPEAKER_00Like the way she thinks.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I'm gonna go support her, I'm gonna take a little nap. Um when I was there, like at the end of the meditation, I had a thought like so clear that I'm like, wow. I had so much clarity on you know the relationship, right? That I was telling you about. Like, wow, it's like this is this is gonna end very soon. And then I read about like the mind is like a jar of water that has dust and it's all the time agitated. And when you meditate, that dust goes down and you can see very clearly. And I thought, like, wow, this is it. And then two months after that relationship, you know, was over, and I was very sad, very sad because all of my girlfriends were getting married and built starting to build their families. And I was asking, What's wrong with me? Like, why, you know, why not me? What's wrong? I'm gonna be, you know, the old lady with the cats, no one is gonna love me, and I'm gonna be alone forever. I I was telling myself, you know, that story. And then um, yeah, I I start uh I was very sad, so I started doing many like courses and things investigating what I can do in order to feel better. And I started taking courses about meditation and I started meditating. This was the end of 2016, and yeah. Same time. Wow, that's crazy! Yeah, and then one day I was at home and I did like a 20-minute meditation, and I felt so happy and for no particular reason. And I felt like wow, I made it, I connect, and I just had tears of joy. It's something that it's hard to explain because the first times you go like, Oh, I can't do this.
SPEAKER_00Right. I'm gonna go crazy, I'm gonna be crazy.
SPEAKER_01I'm losing my time, I'm losing my mind, this doesn't work, I will never be able to do it.
SPEAKER_00Bunch of fucking weirdos, yeah.
unknownExactly.
SPEAKER_01And then one day it hit, and I'm like, wow, this really makes me calm down and feel better and actually happy. So, yeah, so I was, you know, start being happy again and meeting friends and going out and traveling and everything. And then uh I start feeling um more I wasn't feeling very engaged with what I do was doing for work. At the time I was I was marketing luxury and high-end um products and brands, and I wanted to, and that's beautiful, and but I wanted to do something that made me feel more uh fulfillment, you know, something I and I was so interested in everything relating to wellness. What can we do to live like a better and and happier life? So and one day I woke up, I I went to a job interview, and I was excited about, and they told me after I was one of the you know first candidates, and then one day they told me, I'm sorry, but we're gonna move, continue with another candidate. And I felt so sad, like again, the wound of you know, rejection.
SPEAKER_02Sure.
SPEAKER_01No one, no one wants me, no one loves me, I'm not good enough. And and I woke up the next morning feeling really sad, feeling really, really sad. And I said, No, stop. You this is not gonna be your life, like being feeling miserable. Yeah, you're gonna today, whatever life wants to bring me, I'm gonna say yes. I'm gonna release control and I'm gonna think about something happy. So I started thinking about you know, my dad and kind of sending love to him. I didn't know, no one told me about this, so that just came, you know, naturally, just to escape that feeling of sure, you know, sadness. And then friends called me and asked me, hey, let's go to the University of Miami Happiness Summit. And I'm like, oh, well, whatever. Okay, if she says so, let's go. Because and when we are on our way there, I'm I read there was gonna be like a marketing guru from Google speaking, and I tell my friend, when this uh man makes room for questions, I'm gonna ask him if companies like Google hire people who want to work in the wellness, you know, in arena, or you know, I was looking for hope. I because when I was looking for jobs, I like I couldn't find anything that I feel you know interested in. Um so we went to the conference and this this man speaks, and then at the end of the his speech, he doesn't make any room for questions. So we say, okay, whatever, we're gonna go shopping to the in in a minute. And but then all of a sudden, someone comes and you know, uh sits next to me in the audience, and I'm like, it's him, it's him, right? And it was a full auditorium, and I'm like, how is this possible? Right? I wanted to make him a question, and then all of a sudden next to me. Yeah, and now he's sitting next to me. So when I'm thinking, oh, I I need to ask him the question, and I don't want to interrupt, you know, the following speaker, he approaches me and says, Hey, can you can I ask you a question? And we start talking. I ask my questions. Do companies like Google really hire people who is into wellness? And he says, Absolutely. And I'm like, Oh, there's live at the end of the channel. And a lady comes and says, Uh, sir, you are in my seat. So I'm like, No, no, don't go. And he says, Fiorella, please look for me after the conference. I'm gonna ask, answer your question. And yeah, at the end of the conference, I said, My friend, I'm staying here until the end. And yeah, I went and I saw a line of people, you know, wanting to have his book signed by him. And I'm like, he's so kind and such a beautiful, beautiful soul. And he told me everything. Yes, of course, we work in wellness, we do this. There's, you know, we can mix uh both worlds business, marketing, wellness. It's not, you know, business on one side and make money on one side, and then you know, wellness as a non-profit on the other side. Or and he uh we we really bonded, and he invited me to a dinner with his uh MBA colleagues at the time. And I was so happy, and it's like, wow, look, now I have a new friend, I'm going to dinner with these new people. I feel like life is amazing. This morning I woke up so sad and now I'm so excited for life.
SPEAKER_00Happens quick.
SPEAKER_01Right. And then when we uh went at dinner, one of them, um, one one man there who was with his wife, they were telling me about the story of the baby that was coming. Um, and he asked me, Are you spiritual? And I'm like, I think so. And he says, uh, would you like to do ayahuasca? And I'm like, Yes, let's do it. Because I heard about it before and I was like hesitant, but I was at that that day I was so open to receiving any type of information, command, direction. And he says, No, no, no, no, no, wait. I'm gonna send you the information first. I'm gonna send you emails of information, and then you take your time, you decide. So the next week I received like seven emails um with information of studies and workshops and research of what plant medicine, you know, how it affects your body, how much healing, how you know, everything, all of the power and scientific studies, right? And then I'm like, I went into fear mode and I said, like, oh no, wait, I'm not going with this. Even though the information is, you know, relevant and everything, I'm not sure if I'm ready for this. Uh let's sink, you know, let's let it sink and and ground. And yeah. And then eight months after someone comes to me and starts talking about like psychedelics. And I'm like, hmm, I would like to know more about that. And then I was like, you know what? I I do want to I do want to try this experience. I've done at that time I was you know sad because of a visa situation that I I felt like really now there's no light at the end of the tunnel because either I didn't see how I was gonna be get a new visa without either getting married or doing like a very big investment. Um and I know we need to work on ourselves to accept you know the reality, but it's like no, I can't accept this reality because I want to change, or I need to go back home and I want to stay here and work on something else. Um so then I went into this with the promise of 10 years of therapy in a session. I went to this uh session with Silo Sybin, you know, with the I had the opportunity to do it, and wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Yeah, I I thought like, okay, now they're gonna steal my organs, I'm gonna end up in woman traffic or something like that. That's the level of fear that that I had, but I was like uh trusting, trying to trust. And yeah, and it was really like you can't compare these experiences to anyone else. And and just a little bit about myself, I don't do drugs, I I don't do alcohol, I have never you know taken drugs, any drugs before. And these I don't call them drugs, I call them sacred teachers. And medicine, yeah, medicine, yeah, psilocybin. And yeah, I really felt well like so many things and so many breakthroughs. And I realized what you need to do in life is in in your job situation is this, this, this. You came to you know, you came to this planet or to this life to do this, your relationship with this person needs to be accommodated like this, and many other things, like we can go deeper, but but we'll be forever. But it was so much I just realized like I don't know anything. And I and I felt that feeling of we are all one and we are all connected, which I heard before, but I I didn't know how we are all one, we are all connected. I just felt that, embodied that. And the thing is, like two months after that, I I got connected with a friend and a lawyer that was helping you know Argentinians. So three months after that, I I already like you know, applied for you know the green card, quit my my current job, um, create an LLC and start working as a consultant, as a marketing consultant. And I I felt it was like really quantum leaps of advancement and really starting stepping into designing the life that I really want, you know, have for me everything is about freedom and connection. And it was a lot about that. It you know, I could travel, I could work, I would really connect, meet interesting people. Uh I was wow, really, really happy. Uh so yeah, that happened and it was like, wow, why is why isn't anyone talking so much about this? Uh, you know, why this should be mainstream? Like this really has the power to heal and to help. And yeah, and I got more interested and interested. So I start, you know, doing my research, getting educated. Like this year I went to maps to the conf this.
SPEAKER_00I saw that. I want to go next year. Yeah. Gina went too. Yes. Did you see her there?
SPEAKER_01No, I didn't.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we have a mutual friend named Gina that was here.
SPEAKER_01The psychedelic science conference, which was amazing, and there's so much, you know, love and effort, and everybody that believes these, you know, medicines can help. And so yeah, I went to that. And then yeah, life keeps keeps you know accommodating. And for me, everything is about great, great way of putting it.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Life has a great life has a great way of continuing to accommodate me. Wow. What a declaration.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And now I feel for me it's so important, you know, to be in nature, to have community, to make friends. And what I'm what I'm doing now and this next step, so I do marketing and branding for individuals or companies who have like a conscious message and want to spread the world. I'm I really I'm the you know makeup artist behind the scenes, really highlighting them and putting them out there. Love it. And I always Also, you know, love this type of in-person community and connecting. So uh and I'm creating, you know, designing this uh sacred playground for people to have a journey back to their souls and to really be, you know, discover who they are and allow themselves to be who they really are, and not what society wants, not what your mom wants, not what your boyfriend wants, not what your dad wants. Yes.
SPEAKER_00I love that. Wow. I mean, it's so attractive in just by the nature of like how and it all it all just fell together. But you know, listen, our entire life has been scripted out, I believe. We just haven't experienced it yet. So, you know, but everything falling into place continues to increase your belief system even deeper and deeper because you're like, well, that happened and then this happened, and I didn't even know that was gonna happen, but that did anyway. Um, and all the dots start to connect. And I think that the more aware we become, the more dots connect.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The dots are always connecting, but I think that there's there's a way to to accelerate that process. Um, something that I said in in the journey that I had a couple weeks ago, and I got from my transcription because they recorded the whole thing like a bunch of psychos, um, was that there there's layers to this thing. And it's our job to peel back these layers and continue to just refine the process. Um I don't know where that came from, but one of the team members that were there supporting us was like, I said something about there's layers to this game, and you've gotta continually peel back. You peel back one layer and you're like, got it, figured it out, cool. Time for the next layer. And that that became really clear to me in the middle of my journey. Because it was like I felt like I was the beautiful part about plant-based medicine when you do one of these experiences is that the more work that you do, the more committed you become to yourself to continue to evolve, the more these experiences really are like mental workshops. Because you're like, my my idea was like, cool, I'm open. I don't know what to expect from this. And I was completely mind-boggled, but at the same time, I'm like, we're doing the work, which means there's there's we let let's let's get work done. So I was very clear and I knew I was conscious that I was being recorded, and I was conscious that I was in a journey. I was just deep, very, very much deep in a psychedelic journey to tap in even deeper. And I think I never saw that coming with the work. And I don't know if you've experienced that too, where you every time there's a new experience, it's it's another opportunity to to get in the way of the workshop. It's the first time I've ever described it like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00To get into our internal workshop and continue to refine what's next, what's next, what's next. Gina's phenomenal at that and a phenomenal facilitator with with journeys and and and ceremonies and such, in that she she feels that she's called to just facilitate on on, you know, and and and be a vessel for that. So she's not she doesn't she's not making up things to ask, but whatever comes to her and the things that she does ask has a unique way of of pulling it out of us. And I've taken that same thing of what else? What else? What else? Cool, we got that squared away. Okay, cool. Nothing to worry about there. Cool. Next, next, yeah, next.
SPEAKER_01Um I think that I think that like the work never ends. No, it never ends.
SPEAKER_00There's a slippery slope there.
SPEAKER_01As we are, right? Yes.
SPEAKER_00So the we're never done with the work. We it's a lifetime, you know, we got a lifetime to figure it out, I always love to say. But at the same time, recognizing like who the fuck you are and and and and what you've become and those pat on the backs more times than not to remind yourself uh of all of that, I think is is is so vital. Um integration. We we were talking about this before we got started here on the on the on the interview. And um for those of you not familiar with the work of wellness and healing, and this isn't woo, but maybe it is, but you know, some of you need woo. So um, but as you make a conscious decision to work on yourself and go in where all the answers are at, in and and and continue to tweak, you know, we're not fixing anything because nobody's broken. We're just we're just tweaking and and adjusting accordingly. You go through these experiences and go to a, you know, you go through a journey or a ceremony or you've done psychedelics or in a controlled, guided type of environment where you have the opportunity to really open yourself up. After that's done, that's just the experience. After that's done, then the world real work begins. And and that's often referred to as the integration process, which again is another thing that never ends at all. You get done with the journey. Now it's time to integrate for how long until you figure it out. And then after that, it'll be another layer of of what's next. But it can be very easy after one of these things to just slip right back into life. I mean, a little guilty here and there. Um, but grateful for the awareness of it. Um so integration is not an easy process. It's just not.
SPEAKER_01That's the work. You know, that's the real work. That's the real work. That's it's it's about what came during ceremony. Okay, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna change? How do you want your your life to be different? And then, you know, be accountable for that and choose every day, you know, the the the decisions that make you continue, you know, with that life that you want, and don't repeat the same old patterns, you know. And there are things that we can do in order to be in that state of awareness. And usually after you know, a ceremony going into meditation, going into meditation is easier, like practicing gratitude, you know. Having like a note or a postcard. Here you have this beautiful uh recording that says pause if you must, but don't stop, which I love. It's like it's a great reminder to have art like that that really okay reminds you of what how do I want to live.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, it's been it's been just a little bit over a week that I've started to share my experience with you um from this past retreat. But so much wisdom has been drawn out of just our. We had like an hour conversation before this this this conversation, and then we we had a call last week too, and we we talked for about an hour. We're talking like m maybe three hours total, and that three-hour time, this is the power of working with people that are on a similar path of healing, but more importantly, fully fucking committed to the work um on themselves. Not about there's a lot of noise out there of like what you should be doing, and you should be listening I'm just here to tell me what I need to do. You know, and if my life, the way I'm showing up, makes you think differently, well then I'm doing it right. You know what I mean? There's that old quote about uh you know, Christianity, use the preach the gospel at all times, use words when necessary. And uh a lot of that uh is is so true with with with life, but I have learned a lot in that small time frame of you and I um getting reconnected here, which I'm I'm so grateful for. But again, no mistakes, and I'm not shocked, and I'm not like, oh my God, this is crazy, because no, I'm like, oh my God, this is this is what happens.
SPEAKER_01It's happening for a reason. Correct. It's happening for a reason.
SPEAKER_00Correct. And um I've you we've had you know very, very organic, um, vulnerable conversations about the doing the work and then how how life shows up and like how all these and one thing I consistently remember from from that conversation, and or on it seems like an ongoing conversation, which is fantastic, um, is that if we're not willing to commit to higher ways of being, meaning just making good, healthy decisions for ourselves, we're we're prolonging our progress. We're prolonging where we yeah, you're gonna get there, but it's it's gonna take a little bit longer because we're often, and and that to me, we got to create leverage. If you want to shift and you wanna make progress, you gotta create leverage on yourself. You gotta, if you don't like going to you don't like waking up early and putting your gym's clothes on, you better go to bed and your gym clothes, you know. Um, you have to set yourself up for success, and you've also got to create leverage. And I remember, you know, I I run through that when I'm like, ah, we'll go out with the guys tonight, have a few beers, and I'm like, ah, two podcasts to record in the morning, a coaching call, and I'm going to yoga with uh with Fio in the afternoon. No time for a hangover or a late night Friday night on there. The awareness is there on there, but also it's like, how do you how do you want to feel? Because we, I mean, the this work gives you this euphoric feeling when you're in it and on it, like you're like, this is incredible. Yeah, there's not a drug on the planet that's gonna make you feel this good.
SPEAKER_01And that's why having you know a routine or you know, accountability partners who are all doing the work, and it's like, hey, and you start surrounding yourself with people who instead of going, you know, for drinks, want to go for like a healthy dinner, you know, and a really deep conversation. And yeah, of course, going dancing. I love going dancing, but it's like we do it in pla maybe in in uh on the beach instead of you know in the dark nightclub or whatever, you know. Everybody's different, whatever makes you raise your vibration.
SPEAKER_00Correct. And and that took a long time for me to understand. We were talking about this earlier, too. Because that sounds real woo, too. Like your vibration's real low. It's like, screw you, buddy, don't talk to me about my vibration. But it is true. Like if you go out and tie a few on the night before and you're not all there the next day, you're vibrating at a low frequency just by default because your body's been, you know, toxinated. Is that a word? It is now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so get out, you know, get rid of all of those toxins, be be aware, and then focus also on what makes you, you know, raise your vibration. When are you on fire? When do you feel most alive? And you just told me. Yeah. You just told me in the end, tell me what is it? What makes you feel most alive?
SPEAKER_00Seeing people become the best version of themselves because I've had an in I've had an interaction with them. Yeah, something happened on stage as well, too, making people laugh, helping people know what they don't know that they don't know. Those are all things that, and then so I relate that back to cool. So if I uh allow life to just show up in in stress and this and that and everything else, and bad decisions and de all the above, then it affects my ability to serve at that level where I know I'm most needed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. And when you do one of these, you're empowering someone and you feel wow at your highest, you start realizing how the energy changes. Yeah. And that moment when you are in your element, in the flow, is when you allow for life to accommodate beautiful, you know, opportunities or things that will keep you, make you keep staying in that high vibration.
SPEAKER_00What do you do when you don't want to when you don't feel like it?
SPEAKER_01Uh I so I sometimes it happens, but I just, yeah, okay. I have like five minutes of sad time and then let's shake it. For me, it's like dance it till you make it, and just putting some music, dancing, it makes me feel I I will go for a drive and do karaoke in my car. Love that. Yes, that's and then another one is like just talking with a friend, like really a friend who you trust. And I have my friends who are, you know, my confidence. I tell them everything, and I I don't feel judged, I feel supported. And when they need to call me out, they say, Hey, maybe you can, you know, look at this in a different way. Yeah, and just feeling that you can trust someone, that you have someone there for you, it's like, wow, you know, that's the love, that's the community, and I think that's a real medicine.
SPEAKER_00I think that's another benefit of the work of your, you know, that's another reward of doing the work on yourself to become the best version of yourself, is that you're then meeting people that uh share a s you know a similar thought process and are living a similar lifestyle.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and also maybe if they don't, you know share the similar thought process. Like when you meet, you went, you had your experience with with with with the guys, right? And I had my experience last week in in Costa Rica with we were 10. And it's like, how is it possible that we arrive and we don't know anyone, and then at the end of the week, we became family, and you will tell them whatever, and you feel like, hey, you say you're my bro, I can trust you forever.
SPEAKER_00100%. That's a beautiful thing, right? That's and very rare in this world, authentic true authentic relationships where you you got you like I got your back, and I'm like, Don't you worry, I got yours too. And it and you mean it.
SPEAKER_01Where we are seen and where we are not afraid to show up as how we are. Hey, listen, I I miss up. No judgment and I love here, and yes, no judgment.
SPEAKER_00No judgment. It's a safe container where all can be shared without judgment at all. And if you're open to feedback, that's available.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and no one gets to be wrong because everybody's different, so it's like toleration for it's all love.
SPEAKER_00I mean, love, I mean, you really start to think about love differently too. You're like, wow, it is all love. The true love at its core. Um there's a quote that I absolutely love that was from um I forget a book that I read earlier this year. I forget the name of it. But it said, um, and I'm paraphrasing here, but true love at its core is um peace of mind.
SPEAKER_01Beautiful.
SPEAKER_00And it's they followed up to say, think still waters run deep. And I was like, oh, snap, Jenny's gotta go. Yeah. Because it it, you know, if you think about it like that, it that you know, true love in all of its sense, in every area of your life, romantic, platonic, life, yourself, whatever it may be, like peace of mind. When you say peace of mind, like who doesn't want that? And if you don't, you're a psycho. Yeah. Just kidding. I'm just kidding. But um, yeah, there's just a I I think the benefits continue to to outweigh anything, the alternative, which is just not doing the work.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and also as well, like be more, you know, compassionate with ourselves. Like, it's okay not to be okay. And if we have, you know, a moment where we are in our lowest. The other day I read this quote and I love it, and I made a sticky note next to my desk, and it's like, my time is really precious to be, you know, feeling down. Like, really, this goes tied to the purpose, and it's like, no, I can't be down. I have so many amazing things to do.
SPEAKER_00And when you remind yourself about how good things really are.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Um I have a sign above my door that's hot pink, it's a wooden sign, and it says, Until further notice, celebrate everything.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I love it.
SPEAKER_00And uh I should probably read it more than I do.
SPEAKER_01The art of gratitude, right? When they first told me, it's like, oh, okay, I'm gonna do this, we're gonna get cuckoo. It's like, but no, it's like faith it till you make it. It really changes, it really changes. It's like appreciate that you know you have a bed that you could sleep, you know, for seven hours.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm grateful for that a lot. Faith it till you make it. Faith it till you make it.
SPEAKER_01Because I was saying fake it, and no, it's fake it is terrible advice.
SPEAKER_00Fake it till you make it is like the worst advice ever. Yeah, but uh that's like encouraging someone to be full, fully inauthentic. Yes, uh, but faith it till you make it. Um I love that. Yeah, so I don't think we're ever really gonna feel well, we're not gonna feel like anything, really. I mean, some days you feel good, some days you feel uh, but it's the constant reminders of being able to get back to center of okay, cool. All right, cool. You're gonna get five minutes with this, and then we're done. We're moving on. We're gonna go outside, we're gonna go for a walk, the beach, we're gonna go watch a movie. I love going to the movies. I'll like that's a huge pattern disruptor. Oh, like middle of a shitty day, like two o'clock in the afternoon, go just movie theater will be dead empty. Yes. Just go watch a movie and just sit in a movie theater and watch a movie. Like I when's the last time you did that? We were like, I don't really remember. It is such a great way. I think it's an okay way to like, I mean, if you're going to watch like a horror flick or something and like stress yourself out, I don't know, but like a rom-com or something like that, uh yeah, is a is a good whatever we can do to disrupt our our pattern.
SPEAKER_01And also being open to new experiences because sometimes it's like, oh, I'm gonna go to this place, which I'm not sure it's not what I usually do, but it's like, okay, let's be open. I think every person is a universe and can be a teacher, and we can learn so much about ourselves, about the others, about so it's like try to see life with the eyes of a child, right? Everything is, you know, we have a whole new world to explore.
SPEAKER_00We do, we do. If we're open to it. Yes, you gotta be. It starts with being open to so if you're listening to this now and you're like, I've been curious about it. I've had some friends that have, you know, there's a reason that you decided to press play on this episode, or you've watched a clip, or Fio said something that really resonated with you. There's a reason for that. And I I think that I don't want to speak for her, but I I think that I can when I say that, you know, we just want to invite you to to just be with the idea of what's possible with continuing to lean in and stay curious on what's available for you on this whole world of healing, because I I can guarantee you, without a shadow of a doubt, that this stuff works. And the stuff is just us going in and finding out what our what what we already know that we don't know. Uh, and that's that's the beautiful part about it. And you know, every day I turn my shower on cold at the end, settle down, um, and I say, uh, I'm committed to the work. Yes. I am committed to the work. And some days I have to say, cool ma'am, what's that work look like? And uh, you know, I'm committed to showing up every day. I'm committed to showing up when I don't want to. I'm committed to over-delivering for people. I'm continually, I'm committed to staying in integrity with myself and with those around me. And I'm commit- I'm committed to becoming the best version of myself. I'm committed to maximizing my time and experience here on you know on this planet to just leave people better. And I think when when you get to a place where you know who the fuck you are and you can remind yourself who the fuck you are, you can then get out into the world and start reminding other people who the fuck they are just by being you. And that's the beautiful part about this work, Fio, is that you know, your first couple of experiences, you're like, I want to go, I gotta get back and I you should you gotta get, and we want to go play Tony Robbins to everybody, instead of just getting back and let everything settle in and focusing on the integration and watching your world shift around you. And people do. I mean, people that you think are stuck in their ways are not stuck in their ways. That your your your thought process is what's stuck there. Anything is possible. And I always love to say the most beautiful part about the work is that when we shift, other people shift, and we don't have to do anything about it. And I think that is that is that that that's what fires me up and keeps me going. People say, Why do you do the work? Well, number one, it's good, it's a good idea to heal. Um, and and number two, it's a beautiful experience to see people go from I mean radical life transformation. And it hasn't a it wasn't a pill or a shot or it wasn't, yeah, maybe it was plant-based medicine, psychedelics. If you read up on it, you see that this stuff cures depression, PTSD, you know, past you know, childhood traumas. You know, this we're talking, you know, 10 years of therapy in, you know, in in a few hour session in a very supervised environment with with people that know what they're doing. I'm not encouraging you to go find plant-based medicine and go hang out with your friends and go see a laser light show and try and figure it out. I did that in high school, it doesn't work. So um exactly. Even back in those days, it was like I knew there was something here. I was like, I know we go to a laser light show or we went to Disney World one time, that was quite the experience on psychedelics. And um uh, but I always thought, you know, there's something more here. I always knew that. I'm like, this isn't like there's more here with the whole, and if you look back on the history of it all and how it all started, uh this stuff's been happening for centuries upon centuries. Um, it's just now becoming popular, and like the retreat that I went to, like the the facilitators that put that on her wholeheartedly committed to getting this message out to the world. And they we filmed we're actually in the middle of filming a documentary through this whole experience, and they've interviewed us before, post pre experience, post experience, and um interviewed the doctor that was there overseeing us and the stories. And I think that once this message gets out, you know, the world doesn't really want you to wake up. The world doesn't really want like you know, consciousness of the way that it currently is now, and that's why it's like, hey, ow, the ouch, that'll Hurts, here's a pill. Call me on Monday instead of hey, let's just take a few deep breaths and see what's going on, see what shows up. So I'm grateful for the work. I am. It's a motherfucker. And most days I don't want to do it. So there's the full transparency right there, but I know the alternative. And the alternative is a depressed destruction, checking out, being just completely just an absolute, complete warpath in front of me. And I know a lot of people can relate to that because we create our own, you know, our own reality. And sometimes it's not always, you know, as pretty as as one would hope, but the work allows us to really just step into our power.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. And I think doing the work is whatever everybody has its own. There's no like one way to do the work. Everybody can find their own way. And it doesn't need to be planned medicine. Plant medicine, I think it's amazing because I started with breath work, so neuro, exactly. Breath work, you know, neuropark.
SPEAKER_00Breath work, you can go on a real deep psychedelic journey for a minute. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But it's like we are it's about you know changing the switch. We are whole and we can create the reality like when we start acting, you know, in a honorable way. And yeah, and it's really beautiful and see how you know the experience synchronicities and how everything, you know, life is beautiful and we can have live, create a beautiful life and enjoy every moment. Yeah. I think, yeah, that's you know what really the the path, what what this is about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I agree. So um the time we're recording this episode, it's uh beginning of September. Uh so we're about a month, about a month and change out from your retreat in Costa Rica. Let's talk about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so um I found you know Costa Rica to be an amazing place. I'm very interested in the blue zones. That those are the areas in the world where people get to live longer based on uh because of their diet, their health, their nutrition, no stress. They walk.
SPEAKER_00It was like till 115 years old.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. So it's like wow, beautiful. And really energetically, it's like sacred land. It's beautiful. So I always and I love going to retreats. I experience transformation and every time. And I know you can, if you want, you can do you know plant medicine in your bathroom and you're gonna experience miracles. But just to be able to take the time to be, you know, disconnect from your world, to go immersed in nature. Yeah, yes, have someone who's really taking care of you, meet a new group of people, like a small group. So it's these are very intimate groups where you know professionals and um facilitators are leading, you know, the ceremony, and combine it with all of these different activities: breath work, meditation, movement, of course, the healthy eating by a diet by a nutritionist who is from the you know the blue zone, and these transformational activities, right? This everyday and integration circles, it's like a whole, you know, beautiful experience where you really get to build community. And my my goal and my purpose is for everybody to allow, you know, get rid of the conditions of society and structure that doesn't let us be who we really are. And yeah, remember who, you know, it's like the path, it's a journey of your soul. Remember who you are and start living that way. Yeah. And have a beautiful life, like an exciting life, not just be complaining and going through life, right? Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00So it's what are the dates for it?
SPEAKER_01Uh so it's uh October 15th to the 21st. Yeah. Uh there's more info on BeHeRERetreat.com.
SPEAKER_00Behiretreat.com. It's gonna be in the show notes. That's the description of this episode. Be sure to check it out. I'll put the link in the clips we post on socials as well.
SPEAKER_01And it's in Samara, south uh of Nosara. So yeah, the airport is Liberia. And yeah, people fly to Liberia and we pick them up and we take them for a week and then drop you back off at the airport. Yeah, and whoever wants to Good luck, no. No, no, and then we and the no, and then this is important. After you know, the the this experience, we want everybody to have like a very soft landing back into society, so we go we accompany them with for the rest other four weeks with integration, and we do yes.
SPEAKER_00Good, yeah. I'm in the thick of that right now. Yes, so I'm I'm sure you are too. I'm in the thick of the uh integration, but I'm grateful for it. I I look forward to it. I look forward to seeing my tribe and uh my new people, and uh it's just incredible that you can come together like this and be mere strangers 48 hours before and family.
SPEAKER_01Isn't that crazy?
SPEAKER_0048 hours. I'm but like real. Like I would fly to Minnesota if one of these cats needed me today. Like I would legit get in my car and drive to the airport and go. Like it's and I that's a chill, like that's not the norm, you know. Um, but it's beautiful. I am so grateful for uh for number one for our friendship and but for us just the opportunity to to reconnect. And man, what a what a uh what a divine timing of like reconnection. It's not like I just ran into you at the grocery store. It's like I felt very drawn to better understand, you know, where you're at. And I just feel like I'm like, I feel like we're in similar spaces and we gotta have a conversation, and one thing led to another, and here we are, and uh I feel like we're just getting started. You're gonna get me the yoga. Yeah, I'm gonna do a yoga. I'm gonna do a downward-facing dog, best pose possible. Um, and uh, I look forward to that. I really, really do. So thanks for thanks for coming in and being on the show, and uh thanks for sharing your story. I just uh absolutely love our conversation and um look forward to many more.
SPEAKER_01Yes, thank you so much. Pleasure to be here and yeah, looking forward to many, many more.
